This one-day course from NAR is designed to teach the essentials of buying, selling, and managing resort properties and second homes for recreation, investment and development.
• Help clients evaluate and select the type of property, form of ownership, and financing options.
• Identify strategies for building a rental business or assessing the investment value of a property.
• Understand the IRS guidelines for tax treatment of second-home vacation and investment properties.
• Use market statistics and trends to develop a business plan.

Richard “Dick” Fryer has taught real estate related courses since 1978 and has personally instructed tens of thousands of students over the past 40 years. In 1983, he and his wife opened the Institute of Florida Real Estate Careers, Inc. (IFREC), a full-service real estate education facility, and managed both large and small real estate firms in his career and currently owns and operates a small boutique residential firm. He is frequently called upon as an “expert witness” on topics and cases impacting today’s real estate industry. He currently serves as Member, Past Chairman of the Florida Real Estate Commission. 

Cancellations, Refunds and No-Shows 

Cancellations – Three or less business days prior to class date are not eligible for a refund and will result in forfeiture of entire registration amount.
Cancellations – Four or more business days prior to class date are eligible for a refund:
Refunds Checks – Issued for entire registration amount for cancellations received seven or more business days prior to class date.
Refunds Education Vouchers – Issued for entire registration amount for cancellations received between four to six business days prior to class date.

No Shows – Will result in a $20 No-Show Fee for free classes or forfeiture of entire registration amount for fee-based classes. Additionally, your account will be locked and you will not be able to register for any additional classes until fees have been paid.
